Thank you for your question tknapp!
The image that you are downloading is a multi-extension file (MEF), with each detector images stored as 16 FITS extensions in the image file. If you are displaying such FITS file with DS9 you only see extension #1 by default. You can display all the 16 extensions by choosing this option in ds9. Alternatively, you can display each extension using the commandline ``ds9 filename[n]'' with n = 1-16.
A useful short guide on the data format of the science data products is available here:

Dear Reinhard,
thanks for your input. We are aware of this limitation and in fact, we are already working to improve this functionality
in the Archive Science Portal .
We plan to propagate the list of distinct P.I. names in alphabetical order of the last name so that searching
searching by P.I. name (of one single P.I.) for datasets with multiple P.Is will be possible.
We will work on this new functionality as soon as possible and update you here on the progress.
Hi!
I am not totally sure I understood your question.
In general, in the Science Portal, you can visualize proprietary data by clicking on the small key button on the top right side of the searching bar (see the attached screenshot).
Once removing the red X the proprietary data will appear. However it will not be possible to download them nor to see their preview, unless, of course, you are the PI or have delegation rights to do that.
If you instead mean that you would like to overplot the footprint of your own non-ESO dataset on the Science Portal interface, I am afraid this is not a supported features.
Hello,
you can find the data here, under "Public ESO VLT/VLTI Datasets"
Cheers,
the Archive Science Group
